Competitive Graduate Award at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 2024

Competitive Graduate Awards (CGA) aims to support highly qualified new graduate students accepted into master's degree programs at SIUE. The awards are granted for the nine-month academic year (fall and spring semesters). 

Eligibility:

• Applicant must be one of the following:
  • Applicants must be fully admitted new graduate students who have been accepted as classified students in SIUE's master's graduate degree program for the summer or autumn semesters of 2024.
  • Applicants who completed a prior graduate program at SIUE are not eligible.
  • SIUE undergraduate students approved for admission to and currently enrolled in an approved combined bachelor to master's program
  • A previously-enrolled graduate student 
• Applicant must have a 3.25 overall GPA 
• The applicant has to designate a faculty member from SIUE who will collaborate with them on an academic project throughout the grant period.
• SIUE employees and State of Illinois Civil Service employees of other universities are not eligible
• SIUE undergraduate student workers who are currently enrolled and meet the conditions listed by the university are eligible.

Benefits: 

• Full tuition waiver for fall and spring semesters for up to 12 credit hours per semester.
• A stipend rate of $984 per month

Application: The CGA application must be submitted and completed through the SIUE Application Center.
