    Eligibility Requirements

    To qualify for the Fostering Scholars program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Be highly motivated to attend and succeed in college.
      Be between the ages of 17–25.
    • Be a current dependent youth in state, tribal, or federally recognized foster care OR have aged out of such care.
    • Have completed the FAFSA and qualify as "Independent Student Status" under federal financial aid guidelines.
    • Be a resident of Washington State.
    • Have been offered admission to Seattle University or be awaiting admission notification for the fall quarter, either as a first-year or transfer student.

    How to Apply

    To apply for the Fostering Scholars program, follow these steps:

    • Apply to Seattle University as a first-year or transfer student.
    • Once your application has been processed, access your Seattle University Admissions Portal.
    • In the Admissions Portal, you will find the Fostering Scholars application.
    • Complete and submit the scholarship application.
      The priority deadline for the Fostering Scholars application is March 31 of the year you are applying for admission in the fall.
