    The Joan Burns Memorial Scholarship in History was established from a 1995 bequest from Joan Mary Burns for the promotion of the study of History at the University of Canterbury. This scholarship recognises and supports academic excellence by honours and master’s students in History at the University of Canterbury.

    Eligibility criteria for the Joan Burns Memorial Scholarship in History:

    • Any nationality may apply.
    • Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree program or in Part 1 of a Master of Arts degree program.
