    For University of Miami students, the Stamps Scholarship is the most prestigious merit award offered by UM. Seniors in high school who have excelled academically are given this scholarship.

    Eligibility for Stamps Scholarship at the University of Miami:

    • This scholarship is open to all incoming students at the university.
    • Applicants who apply for early admission to UM as Early Decision I or Early Action are automatically taken into consideration.
    • A minimum of 24 credit hours must be completed in an undergraduate program of study at full time with no fewer than 12 credits in each of the fall and spring semesters for a Stamps Scholar to graduate with honors. 
    • At the University of Miami, a 3.0 GPA is required for the entire academic year; the first semester's worth of attendance is used for this calculation. 

    Selection Process:

    • Candidates who make it to the semi-finals must respond in writing, to a pre-established essay prompt.
    • Applications and materials, like essays, will be checked to pick the final candidates.
    • Candidates will be informed of their status as finalists when they are admitted in late January.
    • By early March, the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation will announce the Stamps Scholarship after interviewing the finalists.
