University of Essex Refugee Bursary 2024-25

• The University of Essex offers the Refugee Bursary 2024-25 to support refugees or dependants of refugees in covering university-related costs.
• This bursary aims to assist those who face financial challenges, ensuring that higher education is accessible to all, especially those without additional support from family or friends.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Refugee Bursary 2024-25, you must:

• Be a verified refugee or a dependant of a UK refugee, not yet granted settlement.
• Be enrolled in a full-time or part-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Essex in 2024-25.
• Be self-funded (students receiving repayable loans qualify as self-funded).
• Have applied for and been approved for funding from Student Finance England (or another UK provider).
• Students must meet the specific criteria outlined, including being assessed for Home fees.

Application Process:

To apply for the Refugee Bursary 2024-25, follow these steps:

• Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
• Log in to your Blackbullion account (or register if necessary).
• Select "Refugee Bursary" under the "Funds" tab.
• Complete the application, upload necessary evidence, and submit.

The application deadline is Friday, 25th July 2025.

Value/Benefits:

• Full-time students: £1,500.
• Part-time students: £750.
• The bursary is paid in two instalments: one by the end of January and the other by the end of April. 
• Ensure that your bank details are entered on MyEssex for timely payments.
