Therese Sicard Scholarship at Laval University 2024

To assist female students seeking education in a typically male field, Ms. Thérèse Sicard—the first female forestry engineer in Quebec—instituted this fellowship. It seeks to support students who are involved in scientific, environmental, or associative projects that advance forestry.

Eligibility Criteria for Therese Sicard Scholarship 2024:

• Students need to work full-time or deemed to be full-time according to Financial Aid for Studies in a program leading to the title of forest engineer, either the bachelor's degree in forest management and environment, the cooperative bachelor's degree in wood engineering or the cooperative baccalaureate in Forestry Operations during the scholarship award session.
• Students should have completed at least 1 session (12 credits minimum) of their study program.
• Students must have a program average of at least 3.00/4.33
• Students need to be engaged in an associative, environmental, or scientific activity through which the student promotes forestry
• Students who highlight ecology and sustainable development will be favored.

Selection Criteria:

• Relevance of the activity in which the student is involved
• Level of Commitment
• Quality of presentation of the application and French

Application Process:

Students must submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

Students will receive 1 scholarship of CAD 2,000.
