The University of Hertfordshire offers the Valerie Carr Award - Therapeutic Radiography Bursary to applicants for the BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Radiotheraphy course, for whom the course will be a second-degree; or who are working as support workers in radiotherapy or cancer services; or who has worked in social care and has volunteered or raised funds for a cancer charity/healthcare provider; or who was in social care at any point during childhood and has volunteered or raised funds for a cancer charity/healthcare provider.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants can be of any nationality.
- Applicants should meet one of the following four 'life experience' criteria:
- For whom the course will be a second degree; OR
- Is working as a support worker in radiotherapy/cancer services; OR
- Has worked in social care and has volunteered or raised funds for a cancer charity/healthcare provider; OR
- Was in social care at any point during childhood and has volunteered or raised funds for a cancer charity/healthcare provider.
- Applicants must have a right to work in the UK and are residents of England.
- Applicants must not be following an apprenticeship route.
- Applicants must not receive a student loan or other sponsorship to cover the course fees for the program in which they are enrolled.
- Applicants must demonstrate that their circumstances prevent them from being able, without support, to join the course.
- Applicants must be aged 18 or over at the intended start date of the program.
