Music Centre Award at UEA 2024

Every year, the UEA Music Center presents many Music Center Awards to new and returning students who exhibit remarkable musical accomplishment and dedication. Musicians of any instrument, voice, style, or tradition are eligible to apply for the honors, even those from other countries. They are meant to inspire individuals to advance their leadership and musical abilities and make a major musical contribution to UEA. Although a high caliber of performance is anticipated, taking on prominent positions in the University's musical life is just as crucial. Application deadlines are following UEA admission, which is usually the second week of the fall semester.

Requirements for the Music Centre Award at UEA:

It is not required to have taken any kind of test. At the audition, an exceptional level of performance must be shown. This is especially crucial when a musician performs in a style or tradition without a formal evaluation system in place. It can be helpful to clarify that a performance criterion of Grade 8 and above serves as a baseline for those used to the graded test system. It is not necessary to have taken or passed the Grade 8 test or any other exam.

Application Process:

Candidates need to submit either an online or hard copy application form and provide details about their current and previous musical activities.

Renewing the scholarship:

The scholarship is given for a year, but if the recipient wants to keep going and can convince the music director that they had a big impact in that year, they can reapply for the next year and the award might be extended.
