Eligibility:
- The applicant must be one of the following
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- A permanent resident of Australia
- The applicant must meet PhD admission requirements, which include
- For science graduates: an Australian Honours degree Class 1 or 2A (or equivalent) with a research component of at least 6 months’ full-time study and a Distinction (75%) average.
- For medical program graduates: evidence of equivalent research experience, such as a first-author refereed publication or a record as an investigator on a competitive grant.
- The applicant must be available to start as a full-time PhD student at Flinders University in Semester 1, 2025.
Application Process:
- The admission application and scholarship application are separate processes; admission applications are submitted online.
- The successful candidate is expected to begin in early 2025, but no later than June 2025, depending on negotiation.
Value:
- The scholarship offers a tax-free stipend of $33,000 per year, partially funded by the Gomez family.
The award duration is 3.5 years. - It includes a Research Training Program Fee Offset Scholarship to cover tuition fees for Australian Citizens, New Zealand Citizens, and Permanent Residents.
