The Pūtea Tautoko Doctoral Financial Support Grant provides financial support to enrolled doctoral students who are experiencing exceptional financial hardship due to an unexpected event or unforeseen set of circumstances.

Eligibility criteria for Pūtea Tautoko - Doctoral Financial Support Grant:

Applicants must:

Be currently enrolled in a doctoral degree (PhD or other doctorate).
Be making satisfactory progress in their research.
Be experiencing exceptional financial hardship due to an unexpected or unforeseen event (e.g. illness, job loss, injury, family loss, or natural disaster).

Not eligible:

Students on an extension.
Students who have submitted their thesis for examination.

Value of Pūtea Tautoko - Doctoral Financial Support Grant:

The value of the grant is based on individual circumstances and is up to the value of $3,000 paid in one installment.
