Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship at University of New England 2024-25

The Indigenous Student Success Program of the Australian Government provides funding for this scholarship.  The Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships aim to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students' involvement in higher education. Equity initiatives seek to help everyone reach their full potential by overcoming obstacles related to education and finances.

Eligibility for Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship at the University of New England:

• The applicant must identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person and submit supporting evidence.
• The applicant may be enrolled in any of the undergraduate or postgraduate programs at the university.
• The applicant may be enrolled in part-time or full-time programs at the university.
• The applicant can be a new entrant or a continuing student.
• The applicant must demonstrate the need for financial support.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:

• Document displaying financial income of less than $67,000 per annum
• Aboriginal documentation according to the UNE Confirmation of Aboriginality and Torres Strait Islander Identity Rule
• Other supporting documents as and when requested by the university.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded a sum of up to AUD 4,500.
