Violet Wickham Memorial Bursary at Massey University 2024

The Violet Wickham Memorial Bursary was established by Brian Wickham in 2016. Like his mother, he believes in the value of education and the potential of young people no matter what their family circumstances. 

Eligibility for Violet Wickham Memorial Bursary 2024:

• Applicants must be born in New Zealand
• Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in the field of agriculture
• Applicants must have completed at least 120 credits towards their degree at the time of application

Value of Violet Wickham Memorial Bursary 2024:

• Approximately $5,000-$7,000

Selection Criteria:

• Academic merit across the first year, with an expectation that applicants have a B grade average or higher
• Evidence of financial hardship
• Evidence of a desire to pursue a career in agriculture and a commitment to helping others achieve their life goals as demonstrated in the cover letter accompanying the application

• A personal statement from you, describing your circumstances, outlining your ambitions for the future, and summarising your educational plans.
• A financial statement that supports your claim of financial hardship and a budget that demonstrates how you plan to fund your education.
• A copy of your Massey University transcripts/current enrolment. You can download your Study History Report from the Student Portal, under ‘Results and Exams’.
