The William T. Southcott Scholarship at the University of South Australia is a prestigious award, and the recipient should have an outstanding academic record as well as leadership potential and personal attributes suitable for the award. 

Eligibility Criteria for the William T. Southcott Scholarship at the University of South Australia 2025:

• The scholarship is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, or international students.
• The scholarship must be undertaken on a full-time basis in Australia. Part-time study will only be approved in exceptional circumstances.
• Applicants must have an outstanding academic record, good communication skills and leadership potential. 
• The scholarship is available for PhD studies in the following fields:

  • Autonomous Systems
  • Transport Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Information Engineering
  • Mechatronic Engineering

Selection Criteria for the William T. Southcott Scholarship at the University of South Australia 2025:

Applicants will be assessed based on the essay and also undergo an interview by the Selection Panel.

Value of the William T. Southcott Scholarship at the University of South Australia 2025:

• The annual scholarship of $36‚000 per annum (2025 rate) tax-free will be awarded to a student for a maximum of 3 years.
• An additional one-off amount of $4,000 will be made available to use towards research costs such as conferences, overseas study, and minor expenses.
