Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars Program

Eligibility:

• The Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars Program is open to incoming first-year students of all majors with a strong interest in public issues and policy.
• The program is designed for those passionate about addressing society's most pressing problems and pursuing careers in public service fields like government, policy, law, non-profit leadership, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.

Application Process:

• First-Year Priority Application Due: January 15
• It is strongly recommended to apply by the Early Action or Priority deadlines for UMBC admission.

Value/Benefit:

• The program offers four-year scholarships of $5,000 - $15,000 per year for in-state students and $10,000 - $22,000 per year for out-of-state students.
• These awards often cover a significant portion of the cost of attendance.
• Scholars gain real-world experience through service-learning, internships, and leadership opportunities, preparing them for impactful careers in public service.
