Eligibility for PhD in Computational Neuroscience at University of Amsterdam 2020:
- MSc in computational neuroscience or closely related field with a strong background in neural modeling. Alternatively, a MSc in Machine Learning (via Artificial Intelligence) or Biomedical, Electronic or Automation Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a closely related field with a clear background or affinity for brain-inspired modeling;
- concrete experience in a computational neuroscience modeling project, or machine learning project with clear links to neuroscience;
- strong programming skills in machine learning and neural network modeling;
- experience with the use of supercomputers and simulation engines is considered an advantage;
- affinity with experimental neural data and the ability to use such data in making models;
- strong communication skills enabling you to work in multidisciplinary teams and international context.
Value of PhD in Computational Neuroscience at University of Amsterdam 2020:
- Based on a full-time employment contract (38 hours per week) the gross monthly salary will range from EUR 2,395 in the first year to EUR 3,061 in the last year. These amounts are an exclusive 8 % holiday allowance and 8.3 % end-of-year bonus.
