Margaret and Irene Stewardson Fund Scholarship at The University of Melbourne 2024

This scholarship is available for a well-qualified student undertaking research relevant to cancer.

Eligibility for the Margaret and Irene Stewardson Fund Scholarship:

• Applicants must be outstanding applicants commencing a graduate research degree, or currently enrolled in a graduate research degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences.
• Students must be undertaking research relevant to cancer at the University of Melbourne Centre for Cancer Research (UMCCR).
• Candidates should have a principal supervisor affiliated with the UMCCR and demonstrate exemplary skills in the nominated research area (cancer).
• Applicants should satisfy the Faculty’s entry requirements for graduate research, including minimum academic achievement of first-class honors or equivalent.

Selection criteria:

• Eligible applicants are selected based on academic merit, faculty scholarship score, demonstrated skill in the relevant research area, and career aspiration.
• The selection committee will base its assessment on the application form, academic transcripts, the faculty scholarship score, the student's project proposal, CV, and referee reports.

Benefits:

A fortnightly allowance of approximately AUD 42,000 per annum (pro rata) for up to 3.5 years.
