    The International Student Retention Scholarship (ISRS) is offered by Portland State University (PSU), which offers partial tuition scholarships each year to several deserving students from countries worldwide. 

    Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship:

    • Applicants must identify as international students.
    • Undergraduate applicants must be in their sophomore year and completed at least 3 terms at PSU.
      • They must maintain a 2.75 GPA.
    • Undergraduate transfer applicants must be in their sophomore year and completed at least 1 term at PSU.
      • They must maintain a 2.75 GPA.
    • Post-baccalaureate and graduate applicants must have completed at least 1 term at PSU.
      • They must maintain a 3.00 GPA.
    • Applicants co-enrolled at another USCIS-approved institution are eligible.
    • Applicants restricted to English as a Second Language (ESL) coursework are not eligible. 

    Application Process: 

    • Eligible candidates must complete and submit the online application.
    • The application should include the following components:
      • An Essay (addressing a brief history of yourself and how a PSU degree can help you achieve them.)
      • A documented declaration outlining your financial assistance and the reasons for your need for money.
      • Two letters or forms of recommendation dated within the last six months from instructors or academic advisors.

    Value of the Scholarship:

    Successful applicants will receive a scholarship amount of USD 1,500 per term, or the total tuition (whichever is less) for a maximum of 6 consecutive terms.
