About this scholarship
Through the UQIDAR joint-PhD program, you can receive a scholarship to study at two world-leading, research-intensive institutions – The University of Queensland (UQ) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IITD) – on multidisciplinary projects. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be offered a jointly awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from both UQ and IITD.

Eligibility: The i-student and q-student PhD paths are the two to take into account. Depending on whether you are an i- or q-student, there are distinct qualifying requirements.

Application:
- As i-students, Indian and foreign candidates (with citizenships other than Australian) are taken into consideration for admission. I-students attend IITD for their initial year of studies, then spend a year or more at UQ. After that, they finish their remaining coursework at IITD.
- Domestic candidates from Australia are taken into consideration for admission as Q-students. Q-students attend UQ for their first year of studies, then IITD for one or more years. After that, they finish their remaining coursework at UQ.
Submission of applications is different for international and domestic students.
