SI Scholarship For The Western Balkans, 2017

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and the Swedish Institute are offering scholarships to Western Balkans to support advanced level of studies and research in social sciences.

Eligibility

• The candidates applying for SI Scholarship for the Western Balkans, 2017 should be Ph.D. students or postdoctoral candidates.
• The applicants should be nationals of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia (FYROM), Montenegro and Serbia.
• The Ph.D. students applying for a part of their ongoing Ph.D. studies to be carried out in Sweden are eligible.
• The applicants with a Ph.D. degree from 2012 or later will be given preference.
• The candidates who lived in Sweden for two or more years or who have a Swedish permanent residence or work permit or received three or more grants from the SI are not eligible for the scholarship.

Selection Criteria

• The applicants for SI Scholarship for the Western Balkans, 2017 are assessed based on their personal motivation, academic background, and research quality and expertise in the project.
• The candidates will also be assessed based on the research proposal's strength, its scientific quality, and methodological approach.

Value of the scholarship

The recipients of SI Scholarship for the Western Balkans, 2017 get SEK 15,000 per month for PhD and SEK 18,000 per month for postdoctoral researchers.
