RG and AU Meade Scholarship in Surgery at University of Melbourne 2024/25

Brief Description:

This scholarship was established with a donation from Frampton Garnsey Meade in memory of his parents, Robert Garnsey Meade and Anna Unee Meade, early pioneers in Victoria. Worth up to $800, this scholarship is awarded to medical graduates undertaking a graduate research degree in Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences.

Eligibility for the RG and AU Meade Scholarship in Surgery:

• Applicants must be outstanding graduate research applicants or be currently enrolled as graduate researchers in the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
• Candidates should be medical graduates.
• Applicants must satisfy the Faculty's entry requirements for a Ph.D.

Selection criteria:

• Eligible applicants are selected based on academic merit, the faculty scholarship score, demonstrated skill in the relevant research area, career aspiration, and the terms and conditions of the trust.
• The selection committee will base its assessment on the application form, academic transcripts, the faculty scholarship score, the student's project proposal, CV, and referee reports.

Value of the scholarship:

A fortnightly allowance for up to 1 year, totaling approximately $800.

Application: No separate application is required. Applicants will be automatically considered.

Recipients of trust-funded scholarships are required to reapply by October 31 each year, or their scholarship funding will cease.
