Professor Wilson Prize at University of Melbourne 2025

A University of Melbourne Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) student who has finished a noteworthy research project that significantly relates to the field of pure or applied mathematics is given the Professor Wilson Prize.

Eligibility for Professor Wilson Prize at the University of Melbourne:

• The candidate should have been awarded a Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) research training program.
• The candidate should also have finished a significant research project that substantially relates to the field of pure or applied mathematics as part of the master's degree.

Selection Criteria:

The student who receives the highest ranking from the selection panel will receive the prize. This will be determined by looking at both the student's marks for the research component and the thesis examiner's statement, which includes comments on the research component's qualities such as subject mastery, contribution to the field of mathematics or statistics, and research presentation quality.

Application Process:

There is no separate application process, eligible students will be considered automatically.

Value of the Scholarship:

A single payment of up to AUD 500.
