Bowler Ravensdown Scholarship in Soil Science at Massey University 2024/25

Background & Purpose:

This scholarship was established from combined funds from the memorial to Dermot G. Bowler, a Massey Agricultural College (later Massey University) staff member from 1946 to 1982, and funds established in 2011 from rebates on Ravensdown fertilizers bought by Massey University’s farms. The Bowler Ravensdown Scholarship in Soil Science supports postgraduate students studying in any field of soil science, especially soil fertility and soil water management.

Eligibility for the Bowler Ravensdown Scholarship in Soil Science:

• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a postgraduate degree or diploma in agriculture or horticulture and be studying soil science.
• Preference will be given to students undertaking research in soil water or soil nutrient management.

Selection Criteria:

• Academic merit.
• The benefit to the applicant and their study in receiving this scholarship is how well the applicant meets the conditions and intentions of the scholarship.

Value of the scholarship:

Bowler Ravensdown Scholarship in Soil Science offers partial funding up to $5,000.
