Institute of Employment Research GradAB Doctoral Scholarship in Germany, 2025

The Institute for Employment Research (IAB) and the School of Business, Economics and Society of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) offer a joint doctoral program in labor market research in cooperation with TU Dortmund. The program prepares graduates for a career in academia and policy consulting.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants are eligible who have excellent academic qualifications.
• Applicants with a special interest and enthusiasm for issues of the labor market and occupational research are eligible.
• Applicants must be from Germany.

Application Process:

• Applicants must complete an application form with the required credentials. 
• Applicants should submit a tabular CV.
• Copies of school-leaving certificates and certificates of vocational training and professional activities, copies of university certificates already attained 
• A reference letter from a professor concerning the personal and academic qualifications of the applicant.
• The letter of recommendation should be submitted to the program coordinator directly.
• Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a personal interview with members of the selection commission.

Value of the Scholarship:

• The scholarship awards the successful applicants EUR 1,600 towards financial support.
• EUR 1,800 yearly is awarded for participation in scientific conferences and further training.
• Extra support for research visits is available.
