Eligibility Criteria for British Institute of Persian Studies Research, Research Assistant, and Student Travel Grants 2026:

Applicants must:

Be affiliated with a UK Higher Education Institution (HEI) (or UK museum/registered charity for some grants) at the time of application.
For Research Grants and Research Assistant Grants, applicants must already hold a PhD and have permission from their institution to receive the grant.
For Student Travel Grants, applicants must be currently enrolled as a student (undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral) at a UK HEI.
Provide a risk assessment for any travel component.
Be a member of BIPS when the grant project commences

Value of British Institute of Persian Studies Research, Research Assistant, and Student Travel Grants 2026:

Research Grants – up to £5,000 for fieldwork, archival research, workshops, etc.
Research Assistant Grants – up to £5,000 to employ a short‑term research assistant at a UK HEI.
Student Travel Grants – up to £1,200 to support trave.
