The University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) are offering postdoctoral fellowships to increase the academic diversity of the scholars.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants should be citizens or permanent residents of the US.
- Applicants (graduate students) from the University of Pennsylvania or other academic institutions must have completed their Ph.D. requirements.
- Applicants (postdoctoral scholars) from external institutions must have obtained their doctoral degree within the preceding two years.
- Applicants (professionals with M.D., D.M.D., V.M.D., or J.D.) must be within one year of concluding their post-degree professional training.
- Applicants currently holding positions as postdocs, residents, or fellows at the University of Pennsylvania or Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia are ineligible.
Application Process:
All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:
- A resume that lists publications, education, teaching history if relevant, awards, honors, public service, and any current or future funding.
- A personal statement (max. three pages).
- Three letters of reference from people acquainted with the candidate's work including one letter from their thesis advisor.
- A letter from a Penn or CHOP faculty member with compatible research interests who the candidate has contacted and who has agreed to act as a mentor for the duration of the fellowship.

The successful candidates can avail of the following benefits:
- A stipend of USD 66,300 (Y1) with USD 2,000 increases in Y2 and Y3.
