This scholarship was established by Emeritus Professor Pat Walsh, who served as the Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University of Wellington from 2005 to 2014. Its purpose is to assist students who may face financial constraints that could hinder their academic pursuits.

Applicants must:

• Be enrolled full-time in the second year of their first undergraduate degree.
• Be studying at Victoria University of Wellington.
• Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of B or above.
• Preference is given to students experiencing financial hardship.
