The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship Program 2024

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs created the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program as a tool to help French universities recruit top international candidates for Master's and Doctoral/PhD degree programs. It provides priority study area training to aspiring foreign decision-makers in the public and business sectors.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants may come from any nationality.
• Applicants must be enrolled in either a Master's or Doctoral program offered at a French Higher Education Institute.

Eligible Programs:

• Science and Technology
  • Biology and health
  • Ecological transition
  • Mathematics and digital sciences
  • Engineering
• Humanities and Social Sciences
  • French history, language, and civilization
  • Law and political science
  • Economics and management 

Duration of the scholarship:

• Master's level:
  • a maximum of 12 months when enrolling in an M2
  • a maximum of 24 months when enrolling in an M1
  • a maximum of 36 months for the completion of an engineering degree
• Doctorate level:
  • The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship is awarded for a period of a maximum of 6 to 36 months starting on September 1 of the year the scholarship is awarded.

Application Process:

• Students and foreign institutions cannot directly apply for the scholarship.
• The applications should be sent by a French Higher Education Institution.
• The candidates must contact the international relations department of a French Institution to know about the application procedure and the deadlines.

Benefits of the Scholarship:

• Master's level
  • France Excellence Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly allowance of €1,181, to which is added several services: International transportation, national transportation, insurance, housing searches, cultural activities, etc.
• Doctorate level
  • France Excellence Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly stipend of €1,800 which adds several services: international transportation, national transportation, insurance, housing searches, cultural activities, etc.
