Coaching Scholarships at University of Leeds 2024

The University of Leeds offers Coaching Scholarships to allow aspiring students to work alongside our head coaches to raise club performances.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants can be both domestic and International students.
• Applicants must have a confirmed offer of admission at the university.
• Applicants must either hold or be committed to working towards a Level 2 coaching qualification in their chosen sport.
• Applicants must lead a coaching session for students in their sport without the direct support of a senior coach or staff member.
• Applicants must be willing and able to engage with the program in its entirety including induction, ongoing training, and mentoring meetings.

Application Process:

• All eligible candidates must complete and submit the online form to be considered for the scholarship.

• A uniform in the form of a Leeds Sports leadership t-shirt to wear during your sessions,
• Access to The Edge facility on an Edge Club membership,
• Access to all training required to complete the role including Safeguarding, First Aid, and Coaching Masterclasses,
• Access to a GBP 300 bursary for further sport-specific training, CPDs, First Aid training, Safeguarding training etc., and guidance on mechanisms of securing further funding,
• Volunteer of the Month awards,
• References from the staff team.
