Averil Brent Scholarship in Science at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

The Averil Brent Scholarship in Science was established by Peter Preston-Thomas in 2002 in honor of his daughter, Averil. It aims to support female students pursuing studies in the field of science. The scholarship is open to female students studying full-time at 300 level, BSc (Hons), and Master's by Coursework in any area of Science, including Architecture and Design Innovation. It is awarded based on academic merit, with financial need also considered in the case of equally worthy applicants.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be female.
• Applicants must be New Zealand or Canadian citizens.
• Applicants must be studying full-time at 300 level, BSc (Hons), or Master's by Coursework in Science or Architecture and Design Innovation at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
• Applicants who consider they are experiencing financial hardship.
