History and purpose:
This scholarship has been established in memory of Alison Morton by her family. Alison Morton graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Ecology from Victoria University of Wellington. An addition to the scholarship comes from Alison's grandparents, Grace and Reg Riddick's inheritance. The scholarship is intended to support Victoria University of Wellington's ecology and marine biology programs.
Eligibility for the Alison Morton Scholarships In Ecology/Marine Biology:
- Candidates must be enrolled in Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington's BSc (Hons) or MSc programs in ecology or marine biology.
- Applicants must have graduated from Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington with a bachelor's degree.
Selection Criteria:
- A full-time student enrolled in a BSc (Hons) or MSc program in ecology or marine biology will receive the grant each year.
- The candidate has to have graduated from Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington with a bachelor's degree.
- The jury will consider the candidates' financial necessity in addition to their academic qualifications when determining the winner.
