The University of Queensland is offering scholarships to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate programs for Australian and international applicants.
Eligibility
- The applicants for Academic Scholarship Program, University of Queensland should be citizens or permanent humanitarian visa holders or permanent citizens Australia.
- The candidates should be New Zealand citizens or international students completing or completed 11 and 12 years in Australia.
- The applicants who have not completed any tertiary study or have applied to Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) are eligible for Academic Scholarship Program, University of Queensland.
- The candidates who are listed as 1st or 2nd QTAC preference and who are planning to undertake full-time undergraduate program at The University of Queensland in 2019 or 2020 are also eligible.
Selection Criteria
- The Academic Scholarship Program, University of Queensland applicants are assessed based on academic achievement, financial need, and program preferences.
- The candidates are also evaluated based on their leadership skills, community service, and secondary school attended.
Documents required
- The candidates are expected to receive a reference number before applying to QTAC which can be obtained after they have lodged your QTAC application online.
- The students should submit their personal and contact details.
- The applicants should also submit the information on academic achievements, awards received and a personal statement.
Value of the scholarship
- The Academic Scholarship Program, University of Queensland offers three type of scholarships.
- The UQ Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships are given to applicants who achieve at the very top of the OP1 band (or ATAR equivalent) and offer $12,000 per year up to 5 years for pursuing undergraduate and any subsequent postgraduate coursework study.
- The UQ Excellence Scholarships are given to OP1 (or equivalent) candidates who have excellent academic, leadership or community service achievements and offer $6,000 per year for 4 years to pursue undergraduate and any subsequent postgraduate coursework study.
- The UQ Merit Scholarships are given to high achieving students (OP 1-3) who have excellent academic, leadership or community service achievements and offer $6,000 per year for the first year of study to pursue the undergraduate study.
