About the Scholarship:
Alumni of Melbourne Law School Professor Zelman Cowen (LLB 1940) was a distinguished public leader and scholar, a World War II veteran, and an exceptionally gifted student from Melbourne. He was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford and the Supreme Court Prize. Later on, he held positions as Chairman of the Vice-Chancellors' Committee, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Queensland, Dean of Melbourne Law School, and Governor General from 1977 to 1982.
Eligibility Criteria for Zelman Cowen Scholarship:
- Students need to be domestic or international students.
- Students should be admitted to the Melbourne JD at Melbourne Law School.
Selection Criteria:
The scholarship is awarded to the students with the highest University of Melbourne equivalent score at entry.
Application Process:
No application is required. Students will be automatically considered for this award upon enrollment with the university.
Value of the Scholarship:
Up to AUD 5,000 towards tuition fees.
