The Award was established in 2019 and is funded by Tony Ward (BCom 1997) and Kirsten Hunter (BA 1998), both graduates of the University of Auckland, in memory of their fathers.
Eligibility for Ward-Hunter Award in Education:
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) at the University of Auckland.
- Have completed their first practicum placement.
- Have demonstrated the best all-round performance in the first practicum, based on Professional Supervisor reports.
- Aspire to a career in teaching.
Value of Ward-Hunter Award in Education:
One Award will be made annually and will be of the value of $1,000.
