Thomas Walker Scholarship – Mature Students

• The Thomas Walker Scholarship was established in memory of Thomas Walker (BEng 1931, MEng 1933) through a generous legacy from his late wife, Mrs. Daisy Eveline Walker.
• This scholarship is designed to assist mature students who wish to return to education and pursue a degree in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Sheffield.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Thomas Walker Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be classified as a mature student, defined by the University as anyone over the age of 21 at the time of entry.
• Be starting an undergraduate degree in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering in September 2025.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have dependants and/or caring responsibilities.

Application Process

• Interested candidates should apply by contacting the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering to discuss their eligibility.
• The application deadline for students starting in September 2025 is 27th June 2025, with applicants notified of the outcome by 12th September 2025.
