The Emily Baker Scholarship

• The Emily Baker Scholarship is a prestigious award designed to support Indigenous students pursuing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
• It is aimed at assisting domestic applicants from Canadian Indigenous communities, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, who are committed to furthering their education in business.

Eligibility Criteria

The Emily Baker Scholarship is open to domestic students who meet the following criteria:

• Applicants must belong to a Canadian Indigenous community (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit).
• Students must be approved for admission into either the Summer or Fall intakes for the MBA program.

Application Process

To apply for the Emily Baker Scholarship, applicants must submit the following documents:

• Award Application Form (downloadable for Domestic and International students)

Canadian Indian Status Card

• A Personal Statement (approximately 1,000 words) that outlines how pursuing the MBA at UCW will impact the applicant’s career and personal aspirations.
• Applications must be submitted by May 31 of the year in which the program begins.
• Please note that the personal statement submitted with the application is final; no updated versions will be considered.

Award Value and Disbursal

• The Emily Baker Scholarship provides full tuition coverage for one eligible Indigenous student each year.
• The award will be applied as a discount to all courses within the MBA program.

Conditions for the Award

• The scholarship recipient must begin their program before their admission offer expires.
• The student must not change programs.
• Any fees not covered by the scholarship must be paid by their respective due dates.
• The student must maintain good academic standing and remain enrolled on a full-time basis throughout the program.
• This award currently has no official end date, though this may be subject to change, and applicants should regularly check for updates.
