Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships (Art Scholarships) 2025-2026

The Swiss Government is offering research scholarships to post-graduate researchers from any discipline planning to visit Switzerland for research or further studies at the doctoral or post-doctoral level.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree (prior to 31 July 2025).
• The applicant must be enrolled for full-time studies in Switzerland.
• The applicant must be born after 31 December 1989.
• The applicant must be a highly qualified young artist without a Master's degree.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must complete and submit the online application to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:

• Signed ESKAS application form (typed and printed) with photo.
• A full CV with a list of exhibitions, concerts, awards, etc.
• A motivation letter (max. 2 pages specifying the reasons to study in Switzerland, the importance of the choice for your future career, and your professional projects at the end of the scholarship).
• A research proposal.
• Proof of admission.
• Two confidential letters of recommendation from two different professors in the applicant’s field.
• Photocopies of certificates and grade sheets from previously attended universities/ colleges and diplomas with grades.
• Signed certificate Fit for Mission.
• Two copies of the applicant’s passport.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded the following benefits:

• A monthly payment of CHF 1,920.
• Living costs of one person only.
