Sir Emrys Jones served as the Royal Agricultural College's Principal from 1974 to 1979. He developed strong linkages with industry and managed considerable improvements in teaching standards and facilities at the College. The Sir Emrys Jones Memorial Trust Scholarships were founded in 2004 and continue to help students with Welsh roots throughout their education at the Royal Agricultural College/University to this day.
Eligibility: Applicants must be able to evidence at least one of the following in their application:
- Applicants must be able to evidence of at least one or more parents or grandparents who are Welsh
- Been schooled in Wales and can show academic achievement.
- Have contributed to Wales' cultural or sporting life and heritage.
- Be a resident of Wales, have lived there, or have a parent who does.
Value:
- The award is worth £1,500 per annum for each year of full-time study
- Part-time scholars will be awarded a pro-rata percentage of the £1,500 divided between the number of years of study
