The main purpose of the Prize is to encourage and reward student achievement in, and commitment to, the study of the history of Aotearoa New Zealand at the Honours level.
Eligibility for Rae Hammer Memorial Prize in New Zealand History:
- The Rae Hammer Memorial Prize in New Zealand History will be awarded annually to the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) student, majoring in History who achieves the highest GPA in courses or research related to New Zealand history, and who has demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the study of New Zealand history.
- The student must have met the requirements to be eligible to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) majoring in History to be considered for the Prize.
Selection Process:
- Nomination is made to the Scholarships Office
- The Prize is awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Deputy Head (Academic) of the School of Humanities.
Application Process:
Students do not need to apply for this scholarship, award, or prize or complete an online application form. It is awarded on the recommendation of the relevant faculty or University of Auckland committee.
