Otumoetai Trust Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Waikato 2024

Purpose:

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial support to first-year undergraduate students studying full-time at the University of Waikato (either campus), and who demonstrate financial need, social disadvantage, and/or physical disability and who, without the Scholarship, may not be able to undertake tertiary education.

Eligibility for the Otumoetai Trust Undergraduate Scholarships:

• Applicants must have achieved a minimum of NCEA Level 2 with Merit or equivalent.
• Candidates must be studying at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) toward University Entrance at Otumoetai College, Tauranga Boys’ College, or Tauranga Girls’ College in the year before tenure.
• Applicants should intend to enroll full-time (a full-time academic year comprises 120 points) in the first year of an undergraduate degree programme1 at the University of Waikato in Tauranga or Hamilton for the first time2 in the year of tenure.
• Students must be New Zealand citizens, NZ Permanent Residents, NZ Resident Class Visa holders, or Australian Citizens/Permanent Residents domiciled in NZ.

Value of the Scholarship:

Successful applicants of the Otumoetai Trust Undergraduate Scholarships will receive up to NZD 9,000 over three years.
