The Prize was established in 1981 by Mrs. Mavis Mortimer in memory of her husband, the late Kingsley E. Mortimer, who was an Associate Professor in Anatomy at the School of Medicine from 1969 to 1975. It is financed from trust funds established at the time. The main purpose of the prize is to recognize the student who achieves the highest marks in the practical skills tests for the MBChB Part II.
Eligibility for Kingsley Mortimer Memorial Prize:
- Students who are enrolled full-time and who achieved the highest aggregate marks in the practical skills tests for MBChB Part II.
- Students should have achieved at least 70% of the obtainable aggregate marks.
Selection Process:
- Nomination is made to the Scholarships Office.
- The Prize will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Head of the Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging.
Application Process:
Students do not need to apply for this scholarship. It is awarded on the recommendation of the relevant faculty or University of Auckland committee.
Value of the Scholarship:
NZD 500 towards tuition fee.
