John F. Wilhelm Scholarship

The John F. Wilhelm Scholarship is designed to recognize and encourage a senior English major who plans to teach English and/or American studies and is pursuing a single-subject English teaching credential or a community college credential.

Eligibility criteria for John F. Wilhelm Scholarship -

• The applicant must be Senior with at least 90 units completed before the date of application.
• The applicant must be majoring in either English or American Studies.
• The applicant must have minimum GPA of 3.0
• the applicant must be enrolled at least half-time.

Application process -

• Submit a 1 to 1.5-page resume detailing your accomplishments at CSUS, relevant activities, and services provided to the department, classmates, or community. Include works in progress and a clear statement of purpose regarding your aspirations for a teaching career.
• Two letters of Recommendation from Faculty members from the English Department
