    The primary aim of the IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) is to encourage and assist young women in their pursuit of a nuclear career. In order to achieve this goal, the MSCFP grants scholarships to eligible students who are enrolled in a Master's degree program related to nuclear subjects. Additionally, the program offers internship opportunities facilitated by the IAEA to further support and inspire these aspiring professionals in the nuclear field.

    The eligibility criteria for the IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP):

    • The applicant must be a female student from IAEA Member States
    • They should be accepted by or currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Master's degree in a field related to nuclear studies.
    • Preference will be given to applicants who possess above-average academic achievements, with a minimum score of 75% or a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.

    Accepted fields of study:

    The initiative provides assistance to young women who are pursuing studies in nuclear-related disciplines aligned with the IAEA's mission to promote the secure, safe, and peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. These fields encompass various areas, including nuclear engineering, nuclear physics and chemistry, nuclear medicine, isotopic techniques, radiation biology, nuclear safety, nuclear security, non-proliferation, and nuclear law.

    How to Apply:

    Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply for the IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) by utilizing the online application form. The application portal is scheduled to open in mid-July 2023, with the exact date set to be announced in the upcoming months.

    In addition to completing the online application form, applicants are required to submit the following documents:

    • Copy of the Passport/National ID
    • Official admission letter from the university, confirming enrollment in the Master's programme related to nuclear studies, including the field of study and program duration.
    • A statement detailing the tuition fees or confirmation of tuition costs.
    • Two completed reference forms were sent directly to MSCFP@iaea.org by the designated referees (download the form here).
    • Important Note: All application documents must be in English and submitted using the MSCFP online application form. If original documents are in another language, official translations in English must also be included. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

    Selection Process:

    The IAEA MSCFP Technical Selection Committee evaluates the applications based on the MSCFP selection criteria. This includes assessing the applicant's eligibility, educational background, previous achievements, motivation, the potential impact of the fellowship on their career objectives, and their commitment to public service. The committee also considers factors such as geographic and linguistic diversity during the selection process.
