Eligibility Criteria of the Fellowship:
- Applicants may come from any nationality.
- Applicants must be fourth or fifth year graduate students in the College of Arts and Letters.
- Applicants must exhibit good academic standing.
- Applicants must be in-residence and released from departmental service and teaching work for their fellowship year.
Application Process:
All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:
- Current Curriculum Vitae
- Unofficial graduate transcript.
- Summary of the dissertation research
- A statement of interest, outlining the details of the dissertation research
- Contact information for two references; at least one should be involved in advising your dissertation research
- An acknowledgment letter signed by the DGS to apply to the program and to be released from teaching responsibilities for the duration of your fellowship year.

Ph.D. fellows will be selected by a panel composed of faculty and staff affiliated with the NDIAS. After determining eligibility, the panel will weigh five criteria:
