First Year Booster scholarship 
 
The First Year Booster scholarship is designed to give students a boost in their first year of study at VU. 

Eligibility criteria for First Year Booster scholarship :

1. Australian citizens, Australian Permanent residents, NZ citizens or holders of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa
2. Newly-commencing students enrolled in first year units in 2025
3. Enrolled in an eligible undergraduate course that has a minimum duration of 2 years full-time study
4. Have a current full-time or part-time enrolment status
5. Complete all questions outlined in the applicant portal.

Application process -

1. Applications will be shortlisted by a representative of the VU Scholarships Office.
2. Shortlisted applicants will then be reviewed by a panel of representatives from the VU Scholarships Office.
3. Scholarships are subject to available funds.

Value - This scholarship is valued at $2,000 for one academic year.

• Scholarships will be paid in two instalments, subject to satisfactory academic progression:
  • First instalment of $1,000 after Semester 1, Block 2 census
  • Second instalment of $1,000 after Semester 2, Block 2 census.
