The Prize was established in 1993 by Douglas Pharmaceuticals Ltd to recognize the significance of the development of clinical communication skills in the MBChB degree.
Eligibility Criteria for the Douglas Pharmaceuticals Prize in Clinical Communication Skills at the University of Auckland 2025:
- The prize will be given each year to the fifth-year medical student who demonstrates the highest overall performance in communication skills.
- The assessment will be based on relevant written and clinical examinations.
- These examinations will be conducted during Phase 2 (Parts IV and V) of the MBChB program.

The value of the prize will be $500.
