Deakin Scholarship For Excellence 2025

The Deakin Scholarship for Excellence, open to undergraduates and postgraduates, is intended for students who demonstrate remarkable promise in addition to their academic achievements. The key to success will be strong academic performance or excellence in sports, the arts, community service, leadership, or extracurricular activities.

Eligibility for the Deakin Scholarship for Excellence:

• Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand.
• Applicants must be enrolled at Deakin University in Trimester/Semester 1, 2025.
• Applicants must be in a bachelor's, honours, or postgraduate coursework degree (CSP or full fee).
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time unless exceptional circumstances apply.
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate achievement in one of the following:
  
  • An ATAR of at least 85
  • A Weighted Average Mark (WAM)/Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 80 in previous tertiary study
  • Leadership experience
  • Elite sports performance
  • Community service
  • Volunteer activities
  • The Arts
  • Any other achievement.
• Consideration will be given to students experiencing financial or personal hardship.

The following documents are necessary for the application:

• Proof of previous WAM or GPA (if completed at another university)
• Proof of any leadership or community service accomplishments
• Proof of any athletic or other accomplishments.

Students can apply directly to Deakin through their scholarship application portal.

Value of the Scholarship:

• Undergraduate students: AUD 5,000 per year in cash or as student contributions (tuition fees).
• Postgraduate students: AUD 10,000 per year in cash or as student contributions (tuition fees).
