Betty Burmeister Memorial Scholarship

This award was established to honor the memory of Betty Burmeister by providing scholarship funds to re-entry students. Betty had to drop out of high school in the early 1930s due to the effects of the Great Depression on her family. Much later in life, after having married and raised two sons, she completed high school and was accepted to Sacramento State. She thoroughly enjoyed her college experience.

Eligibility criteria for Betty Burmeister Memorial Scholarship -

• Applicants must be continuing students and plan to be enrolled in the next academic year or,
• A new student who has applied for admission for the upcoming academic year must be enrolled in our system before you can apply for any scholarship. 

Application process -

• The applicant must answer all the supplemental questions asked by the University.

  • Please submit a written statement describing the challenges of reentering college after raising a family?
