Chancellor’s Award at Algoma University 2025

The Chancellor’s Award is a scholarship valued at $5,000 annually for international students entering their first year of study at Algoma University. International students considered for the following awards must have a temporary resident visa as a member of the student class under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act of Canada on the first day of classes.

Eligibility criteria for Algoma University Chancellor’s Award:

• Open to all international students.
• Applicants must be entering their first year of study at Algoma University.
• The following language requirements must be met upon admission to qualify for this scholarship:
  • TOEFL: 560 (85 internet-based)
  • Duolingo Test of English (DTE): 125
  • IELTS: Overall 7.0, no band less than 6
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): 65
  • Cambridge Assessment of English: 185 overall
• International students studying in an Ontario secondary school and meeting the OSSD requirements must achieve 90–100 percent on their top 6 grade 12 U/M courses presented for admission.
• Applicants must maintain an average of 80 percent each year on previous fall/winter courses with no failures. 

Value of Algoma University Chancellor’s Award:

Successful applicants of the Algoma University Chancellor’s Award will receive a scholarship valued at CAD 5,000 annually for international students entering their first year of study at Algoma University.
