The St. Nicholas Scholarship at Northumbria University 2024

The St. Nicholas Scholarship is designed to support the education of young people in Newcastle by providing financial assistance to two undergraduate students at Northumbria University. This scholarship aims to transform the lives of recipients by offering financial support during their undergraduate studies.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be UK/Home applicants with 'Home' fee status, including students domiciled in Jersey, Guernsey, The Channel Islands, Ireland, and the Isle of Man.
• Applicants must be under 25 years old.
• Applicants must currently live within the boundaries of Newcastle upon Tyne, with a permanent residency for five years or more, in eligible postcodes.
• The applicant's household income must be under GBP 25,000.
• Applicants must choose Northumbria as the firm choice by June 6, 2024.
• Applicants should meet all individual entry requirements.
• Applicants must be self-funded and not in receipt of sponsorship or other funding for fees.
• Applicants must agree to share consent via the Government Finance Provider with Northumbria University.

Application Process:

Applicants need to apply via an online written application, responding to the question, "How will this Award support your aspirations to succeed in Higher Education?" Applications will be assessed based on the strength of response against a marking criteria.

Value of the Scholarship:

Recipients will receive GBP 2,500 per year, totaling GBP 7,500, during their undergraduate studies. The funds can be used to enhance their learning and overall university experience.
