Cecil M Segedin Prize In Engineering Science at University of Auckland 2025

This award was created in 1988 to recognize Cecil Segedin's exceptional contributions to the University and, in particular, to the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, which he oversaw from the department's founding in 1963 until his retirement in 1980. The Prize is intended to promote the pursuit of excellence in the field of engineering science.

Eligibility for the Cecil M. Segedin Prize in Engineering Science:

• The prize will be awarded annually to the student enrolled in the ENGSCI 700 Research Project in Part IV of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Engineering Science program whose project best demonstrates the Learning Objectives listed in the course outline. 
• Students must have achieved at least an A grade.

Selection process:

• Nomination is made to the Scholarships Office
• The Prize will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council upon receiving the recommendation of the Head of the
• Department of Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering.

Application Process:

Applicants are not required to fill out an online application or apply for this scholarship, award, or prize. It is given out based on the advice of the appropriate University of Auckland committee or faculty.
